Our workshops are designed so that everyone is successfull, regardless of their artistic ability. Personal attention is given every step of the way to prepare the supplies from wood selection to stencil designing. Our goal is help you find your inner artist while creating a custom piece for your home.
Wood pieces are selected by hand to ensure quality pieces that have an ideal surface for stencil application. Each piece is then cut to size. The wood stain is applied and allowed several days to dry before the sanding process. Each board is sanded by hand to remove any excess wood stain and rough texture.
The key to success when making custom wooden sign lettering is in the stencil. Our stencils are a thick, none stretchy, vinyl that is make for stenciling. They have a sticky back that, once applied properly, resists paint bleed under them. Each person in the workshop will receives their own stencil for the event.
Kids are young as 6 years old are able to weed their own stencil. The stencil is pre-cut but requires the lettering and images removed for the stencil to open up all areas where paint will be applied. Many people find this part of the process relaxing.
Since the stencil is sticky, it allows for intriguite details and fancy cursive lettering. Something you can not achieve with traditional hard plastic stencils.
People of all ages and skill levels are able to make a professional looking product with the stencils help. Once it is applied, it will resist paint bleed to reveal crisp lines when removed.
Flat bottom sponge dabbers in a variety of sizes are available to use during the workshop. Tiny ones work best for small lettering and when working in tight spaces. Large sponges help over a large area to ensure uniform coverage.
